((I figured this would be a good way to get into Ash's and Aven's minds on their rise to fame or not haha I'm sick in bed and needed something to distract me from the pain shooting down my throat to around my heart. Anyways here we go.))
Ash:
I looked at Aven, she was sitting so still. Tuning the instruments and glaring slightly at her electronic piano. I tried telling her that everything was going to be fine earlier, but she seemed more stressed out than I'd ever seen her before. She was defiantly more on edge when Joy was around, then again I just wanted to see Ember. We were outside, waiting for the agent to get here. At least we were told that he was going to meet us out here by the receptionist. I wasn't sure what was going on.
"Aven what's going to happen if they find out we're shifters?" I asked leaning against the wall.
She looked up at me and stood up, placing my guitar down on the wall with her piano. She leaned in close and for a second I stiffened, unsure of why her face was so close to mine. She flicked my forehead and smiled that rare smile that had been showing a lot more since she started hanging out with Angel and Iggy.
"Stop worrying Ash," she said, "We're going to be fine. If anything, we can pull off the changes as a gag. Like we like dressing up like furries or something Japanese."
I smiled slightly and stared at Aven, before Ember she'd been the only person I thought would get me. She was my mentor, my beta, and my best friend. Hopefully fame wouldn't change how we felt about each other, or make life harder for Ember and me.
She seemed to read my mind, "Ash, Ember is always going to be here for you, and if she doesn't then she wasn't meant for you anyways."
I nodded and took a deep breath. I needed to shake the nerves, anything that would help me to calm down. Aven looked up at me and started playing her piano, a tune that we'd made as a joke. I laughed and started rapping.
"I like this girl so much. She's always on my mind. We have an awesome time. We never crossed the line. She don't wanna mess-up the friendship. 'Friendsies.' I'm in a frenzy, 'cause my bedroom's empty. And I'm gently attempting to win her over, by being as good a friend as I can be. She's tempting but riddled with doubt. Friend Zone is like the mafia. You'll never get out!"
Aven laughed as she played and I started singing.
"She doesn't know the half. In my wallet I keep her photograph. I've made my decision. For you, babygirl, I'd change religions. 'Cause in your eyes I see heaven. Girl, I think about you twenty-four seven. Before this story ends, I wanna know can we be more than friends? I put my hands up in the air. Try to act like I don't care. But tonight I'm all alone, because now I'm in the friend zone! I'm in the friend zone. I'm in the friend zone. I'm in the friend zone. Now, I'm in the friend zone. Now, I'm in the friend zone. now, I'm in the friend zone. Oh yeah."
Before we could get to the second verse, a man got out of a limo and told us to stop playing. He clapped me on the shoulder and gave Aven a smile. She packed up our stuff and handed me the guitar. He led us into the building talking nonstop about how our band could really get fans.
"Now Ashton was it? What's your last name son?"
"Black."
"Ashton Black, edgy I like it," he said, he was slightly over weight and his suit seemed to be a size to small, "And you little lady?"
"Aven Rowan," she said keeping her answers short.
"We could play you two off as black and white," he said, "You know good vs. Evil. Just a good way to market you two. Now for a band name. I already know that you both sing and play instruments, but we'll get more people so we can concentrate on your singing and piano. Now today we're going to make a music video, using that Kiss Me Slowly song. Then we'll post it on youtube along with a date for your first concert. We'll release your demo cd as your first Album."
"This is moving kind of fast," I said looking at Aven who was gritting her teeth.
"We'll we gotta keep you two fresh. How about Double A? Or Flames?"
"For what?" I asked.
"Band Names!" he said slipping his arm around Aven's waist, "I like Flames. Though we could go with Up and Away or even Starlight."
"Starlight," Aven said moving away from him to stand behind me.
"Yeah," I said.
"Alright. We'll lets get this video started," he muttered.
The next thing I know, I'm in a lose fitting black t-crap, jeans and no shoes. Aven is in a white dress and is seated at a large piano. Everything around her is white. Her hair is pulled back from her face. She looked like an angel. My set was a bedroom or hotel. I wasn't sure what. All I know is that there was a girl with blue eyes staring at me from the set. Her hair was dark and she wasn't wearing much besides a camisole and underwear. I wasn't too sure about this.
"Sir?" I asked.
"Please Ashton call me Gregory," he said with a laugh, "After all you're my new stars."
"Gregory," I repeated, "Listen I have a girl friend and I'm not sure how well she'd take this."
"You can explain to her later," he said, "Lily is nothing but professional. Her boyfriend is fine with it."
I sighed as he said to get in place. I stood at the door frame and looked down at Lily. She smiled up at me.
"Relax. We'll keep it to the song."
I nodded as I heard action and Aven started to play. The camera focusing on her hands and then on her profile. It moved to where it focused on her head over the piano and then I started singing and it was on me. I took Lily's hands in mine and sang to her how I would Ember. On the second line I traced her face when it said not to leave me alone. I tugged her hand to make her walk a little further in to the set at the next lines. I pulled her hands up to my chest. The camera was focusing on out faces. Then she was at the window. Staring out at a green screen that would have city lights replacing it. I took a deep breath and kept going. Knowing that I wouldn't really have to sing the whole time. Chances were they were already taking my voice out to match it with the CD's version.
We moved to the bedroom door, I was leaning against it as she went on her tip toes to kiss me. Then she moved away as the camera focused on my face and I sang to it, just getting into the song for a moment. I knew the camera was now on her with the song lyrics matching up and blurring out. Then she was on me again, pushing me up against the frame. Her kiss was barely there, but I knew it must have looked convincing. I let my fingers trail on her arm as the camera focused on our faces.
The camera moved again to Aven, who's eyes were closed as she played. It seemed to trace her body as the music swelled resting on her face. Then back on me and Lily. We were seated on the bed now. I was leaning on my side as she flipped through fake pictures. I watched her as I sang. We were in separate rooms now she was fake crying on her side as I just leaned against mine and stared straight ahead. I went around the wall and pulled her up, moving her hair out of her face and smearing the tear away on her cheek. We were on the bed again, staring up at her as she leaned in to kiss me as I laid down on the bed.
The camera seemed to switch between me and Aven at this music build. focusing more on Aven as Lily simply fake kissed me on the bed. Then she was walking away as I pretended to sleep. I pretended to wake up and look for her. I picked up her picture and sang to it, looking out the window. Then I shut my eyes and sang. Then the camera was in my face and I got back into the music. At the last slowly I gave the camera a smirk, and that was the end of the video.
Aven and I signed our contracts and headed back to find Ember and Joy and tell them everything. Hopefully Ember didn't see the video before I could explain.
